BitTorrent
Alternatively referred to as a torrent a BitTorrent is a file sharing program introduced by Bram Cohen on July 2, 2001 that shares files between all clients currently getting the file and continues to share the file on their computer. What makes bitTorrent successful is that it shares the files between all users, which means if the file is popular, the bandwidth is likely to increase and will not overload or stop the download because too many users are trying to get the file at the same time.- The official BitTorrent page can be found at: http://bittorrent.com/
- Vuse, formerly known as Azureus is a great bittorrent client and can be found at: http://azureus.sourceforge.net/
