Word count

A numerical count of how many words a document contains. Most word processors today have the ability of counting how many words are in a document for the user. For example, Microsoft Word's word count feature is found on the 'Tools' drop down menu. In Corel WordPerfect for Windows, the word count is located under 'Document information' in the 'File' drop down menu. An example of a word count is this paragraph, which has a word count of 80 words.
