Wire

Network cord wires
A single strand of metal capable of transmitting power or data from one side of the wire to the other. These wires are almost always protected in a plastic covering that is sometimes color coded to help identify each wire on each end of a cable. In the picture to the right, is an example of a CAT5 cable stripped with the wires exposed.
