Cab

Short for cabinet, a cab file refers to a Windows compressed cabinet file. These files contain all of the files and drivers that help make up Windows and allow devices to work with Windows. Whenever installing a new hardware device, if you do not use the manufacturer CD Windows relies on the cabinets a possible source for a location of drivers.
