Add-on

1. A software add-on is any third-party software program or script that is added to a program that enhances the program by giving it additional features and abilities. For example, Adobe Flash is a great example of a software add-on that gives Internet browser the capability to watch flash movies or play flash games.

 

2. When referring to hardware an add-on is any component that increases the capabilities or performance of your computer. For example, additional RAM, upgraded CPU, and a modem can all be considered add-ons.
