Access point Alternatively
referred to as a base station and wireless router, an access
point is the location of a wireless receiver that enables a user with wireless access to connect to a network or the Internet. This term
can refer to both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices. In the image to the right, is a Linksys wireless access point router and an
example of what a Wi-Fi access point may look like. Unlike a traditional router,
this router will have one or more antennas on it to help get the wireless
signal.
