Widget
Alternatively referred to as a gadget, a widget is an additional feature or extension to a software program, operating system GUI, or web page. Software gadgets give the software or web page additional features and capabilities that help give the user exactly what he or she wants and an overall better experience.A widget or gadget can be as simple as additional icons, menus, buttons, or capabilities or an add-on that gives the user the latest news, sports scores, stocks, weather information, random or daily pictures, to-do list, traffic reports, calendar, mini-games, quotes, etc.
