ASR
1. Short for Automated System Recovery, ASR is a feature first found in Microsoft Windows XP that helps backup your system. To start the ASR open the Windows Backup Utility by following the below steps.
- Click Start and then Accessories.
- Click System Tools.
- Click Backup.
- In the Backup Utility click the option to show Advanced Mode.
- Finally, click the Automated System Recovery Wizard button.
When running the Wizard, you'll need to insert a floppy diskette into the computer to backup the recovery files.
2. ASR is also short for Automatic Speech Recognition.
